L'Europe des Théâtres 2012
Juin 2012 - June 2012
Call to participate
Dear friends,
The House of Europe and Orient (MEO) is an independent, European & cultural centre based in Paris. Among other activities, it coordinates Eurodram, European network for drama in translation. We will soon organize the second session of « Europe of Theatres », our European festival for drama in translation, and invite you to participate.
The aim of this festival is to promote drama in translation in Europe, by organizing public readings of translated theatre plays, and when possible public meetings with foreign playwrights and their translators.
These events will be organized in different cities in Europe, between June the 8th and the end of June. There is no selection, any theatre and company can participate. All events will be mentioned in a single promotion document, several newsletters and a detailed website, this promotion being coordinated by our centre (MEO). All partners are engaged to make promotion of the whole festival on their own network. Each partner must be able to act with its own means and produce its own event, including the payment of the authors rights. The festival will not be responsible for lacking of payment concerning any of the events included in the festival. In Paris are already planned some activities from 8th to 12th with the opening of the festival, general assembly of the Eurodram network, readings of extracts from mainly selected plays, 10th anniversary of l’Espace d’un instant publishing house, etc. We are then looking for partners, able to propose a public reading and talk in any place, and wishing to join the festival. We would be very happy that you participate with us to this festival. If you are interested in it, please tell it to us as soon as possible. As quickly as each reading will be registered in the festival, better will be the organization and the promotion.
With best regards,
Dominique Dolmieu.
